Berry Sauce

This is one of my favorite toppings to whip up with breakfast or dessert. It’s super quick and easy to make and it tastes fantastic on top of pancakes, waffles, cakes, ice creams, etc.

Berry Sauce

By Valerie Kukahiko Serves: about 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 Tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

Add frozen berries and sugar to a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil while stirring frequently.

Meanwhile, whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl.

Add the cornstarch slurry to the berry sauce when it’s boiling. Stir until the mixture thickens up a bit. Remove from heat.

Stir in vanilla.

Serve warm or cold. Store covered in the refrigerator.
